ID Asbestos provides testing of materials for the presence of asbestos for both commercial and domestic clients. The procedure for testing for asbestos containing materials is also commonly referred to asbestos sampling or asbestos bulk sampling. Upon attending your property, one of our fully trained BOSH or RSPH certified asbestos surveyors will safely remove a small sample of the suspected material in accordance with HSG 248 ‘The Analysts’ guide for sampling. To ensure high standards of testing and impartiality, samples will be analysed at an independent UKAS accredited laboratory to prevent any conflict of interest.
What Happens Next?
Once the sample has be examined, you will be issued with a written certificate which will identify if asbestos is present within any samples and conclude the type of asbestos identified. As part of our high quality asbestos testing service, we include professional guidance if required, where one of our experts in Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex will be happy to talk you through the results and help you understand your options.

A refurbishment survey should always be carried out where a property or part of a property is having work undertaken to upgrade, refurbish or carry out intrusive maintenance or repair works.
If you’re buying a new home or carrying out refurbishment or demolition work in a property, identifying asbestos containing materials is essential for any work to be carried out safely and gives piece of mind.
You have a legal duty to have the condition of all the asbestos inspected to ensure no damage or deterioration of the material has occurred since the last re-inspection or survey (asbestos management survey).
An asbestos management survey within a commercial/industrial property is the minimum standard required for you to comply with UK law.
